It wasn’t long ago that Sophie Turner—who lives on a reported multi-million dollar estate in Oxfordshire—was dressing like any other 28-year-old from Northampton. Take, for example, the lime-green Retrofete dress she wore back in August. Sophie was strolling around Manhattan, but wouldn’t have looked out of place at Vodka Revolution in her playful dress. But since splitting from the teenybop boybander Joe Jonas—and finding herself at a new juncture in her life—Turner’s relationship with clothing seems to have matured. Gone are the out-out dresses and Nike Air Jordans, replaced by Louis Vuitton cocoon coats, Khaite denim and The Row ballet flats. It all feels a little more “classic” and a little more “ladylike” than it once did. She is, after all, dating a British viscount named Peregrine Pearson, and perhaps enjoying experimenting with playing the aristocrat.
Just last night, the duo were photographed while leaving The Ritz hotel in Paris, where Turner is presumably staying ahead of Louis Vuitton’s autumn/winter 2024 presentation tomorrow afternoon. (She has been working with creative director Nicolas Ghesquière since she starred in his autumn/winter 2017 campaign.)
She wore a loden coat and suede kitten heels with a prim little handbag looped over her shoulder. (See photos here.) It all felt quite Meghan Markle, but could feasibly have been yet another example of celebrity method dressing: Sophie Turner will shortly be starring in an ITV drama based on the life of the notorious jewel thief Joan Harrington—a woman who obviously enjoyed the spoils of a noble woman’s lifestyle—which is slated for a September 2024 release.
